Started “The Shobies’ Story” by Ursula K. Le Guin.
I’m rereading this for book group. We’re doing this short story and its sequel “Dancing to Ganam.”
Finished The Complete Guide to Home Permaculture.
I have been following Brandy and Shades of Green Permaculture for a while. The book is a good collection of the content they put out.
“Complete Guide” is a stretch. Much of it felt like solutions need complete overhauls, even though Brandy concludes with “Start with small changes. Let your landscape evolve over time, and trust that even the smallest steps are making a difference.”
Regardless, I have a couple of ideas for some small changes I can start with.

I had a cursory understanding of Doug’s ideas going into this book, but I feel I have a solid grasp of it now: the decline of biodiversity has real consequences for humanity, and we can have a meaningful impact by supporting every trophic level with native plants and habitat.
