Got the Front Entry Shrubs Out

I got the shrubs in the front entry area out on Saturday. I transplanted the loropetalum, tea olive, and hydrangeas. Intentionally disposed of the spiraea. The camellia was too big to get out without severe root damage.

I got the shrubs in the front entry area out on Saturday.

I trashed the invasive spiraea. The loropetalum came out pretty easy. The tea olive had more root damage, but I’m hopeful it will recover. I transplanted those along the dry creek bed in the front yard.

I’m pretty sure I got the entire root ball for each hydrangea. I transplanted them to the shadier back yard.

The camellia was much too big, and the roots were too large and extensive for me to dig up without catastrophic damage.

A photo of the front entry bed after removing the shrubs. What was once full of bushes blocking the view of the walkway is now empty.
