Asheville/Black Mountain Day Three

For day three of our Asheville/Black Mountain spring break, we mostly hung in downtown Asheville. We visited French Broad Chocolate, Malaprops Bookstore, Well Played Board Game Cafe, and Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ. We ended with s’mores back at the house.

For day three of spring break, we went to downtown Asheville.

We parked near Pack Square Park. Mackenzie had found this Asheville Urban Trail thing, so we started with that but quickly gave up and just wondered around.

We got some treats at French Broad Chocolate. Their bon bons looked incredibly perfect, but were $3 each, so we all opted for other sweets.

We popped into a few shops, including Malaprops Bookstore. We all enjoy a good bookstore.

We then headed to Well Played Board Game Cafe and spent the rest of the afternoon there. It’s well bright and spacious, well organized, and well run. We generally had two games going at a time and played Clue, Beat the System, Tasso Banana, Bing Bang Boom, and Exploding Kittens. Tasso Banana was a surprise hit for the group.

We ate dinner at Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ. It was good outdoor dining for our group. I had the Bear Bowl, which was four pieces of cornbread at the corners of a mound of baked beans, topped with meat. I went with the pulled pork/brisket “chopped” combo.

After dinner we came back to the house and made a fire for s’mores.
