Yesterday began phase three of my training plan for the Atlanta Track Club Wingfoot Mile.
Phase two did not go well. I’m currently sidelined letting my hip adductor/flexor thing heal up, so at the moment training = not running.

Yesterday began phase two of my training plan for the Atlanta Track Club Wingfoot Mile.
Phase one had some bumps, but I’m moving into phase two optimistic (or stubborn).
Today began the my second training cycle of 2026, targeting the Atlanta Track Club Wingfoot Mile.
Sunday I raced the Big Beach Half Marathon in Gulf Shores, AL.
With admittedly low mileage, I gave it my best effort. I’m happy with my strategy and effort, but with a VDOT of 37.5, this was my slowest race effort since I’ve been tracking my VDOT.
Tomorrow I’m running the Big Beach Half Marathon. My friend, Steve, is running the marathon to celebrate his 60th birthday, and many of us have secretly been training to join him for the weekend.
We surprised Steve yesterday so I can finally publish my training details.
